Bring better food to Jersey City today by investing in the Jersey City Food Co-Operative. This investment isn’t a recurring subscription or fee. You are not just a member of the Co-Op, but rather, you share a piece of ownership in the co-op itself. JCFC membership is open to all, and in order to shop you must become an owner.

Ownership comes with access to natural and local products, special prices for JCFC events, and a vote in the co-op’s development and operation. Owners also provide labor towards our operation by contributing time and effort to the diverse requirements of running the venture.

The Jersey City Food Co-Operative is a collective and collaborative effort, and it cannot exist without the support of owners like you.

Requirements

There are certain requirements for ownership that include:

All adult household members that share in food from the Co-op must join the JCFC.
Work shift requirements can be shared within the household. Currently each member of the JCFC is required to contribute two hours of labor per month.
Investment is currently $110 per member, which includes a $50 store credit. We do offer a reduced investment for those on income-based assistance such as food stamps (EBT); Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Section-8 Housing Subsidy, Advantage Program (Family Care or Medicare) issued by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) or Department of Human Services (DHS).
